Closer to the Wild adheres to responsible practices to ensure minimal disturbance to whale populations and their habitats while promoting sustainable tourism.

  • Do not approach whales head on within 100 yards.

  • Avoid placing the vessel in the path of surfacing whales.

  • Do not disrupt the normal behavior of an animal or whale.

  • Operate at at a slow safe speed when in the presence of wildlife.

  • Put engines in neutral When whales approach within 100 yards and do not re-engage propulsion until whales are observed clear of harm’s way from the vessel.

  • Do not separate whales from a group.
